Number of pigs as at 1st December 2007 went down by 79 thousand heads y-o-y (2.9%), of which number of sows declined by 24 thousand heads (10.8%). Compared with the situation as at 1.8.2007 the number of pigs decreased by 5.5% (of which sows: by 9.5%).
In the year 2007 22.6 piglets per 1 sow were born (rise of 3.5% year-on-year), 20.1 piglets were weaned (increase of 3.5%) and 11.0% piglets (just as in 2006) were lost by death. Sale of pigs for slaughter grew by 4.6% y-o-y.
