Number of pigs as at 1st August 2007 went down by 10 thousand heads y-o-y (0.4 %), of which number of sows declined by 6 thousand heads (2.7 %). Compared with the situation at 1.4.2007 the number of pigs decreased by 0.5 % (of which sows: by 3.0 %).

From the beginning of the year to 31st July 2007 13.5 piglets per 1 sow were born (rise of 3.3 % year-on-year), 12.0 piglets were weaned (increase by 3.4 %) and 10.8 % piglets were lost by death (decline of 0.1%). Sale of pigs for slaughter grew by 3.9 % y-o-y.
