Number of poultry as at 30 September 2007 increased by 1 323 thousand heads (5.8 %) y-o-y., of which number of hens went up by 150 thousand (2.7 %). Compared with the beginning of the 3rd quarter 2007 numbers of poultry total went down by 4.5 %, whereas number of hens increased by 1.8 %. Egg production reached the level of 1 173 mil. pieces in the period of 1. 1. -30. 9. 2007, i. e. y-o-y increase by 5,4 %. Average egg laying per hen was 209.3 eggs (more by 1.0 %). Sale of eggs went up by 5.1 % to 872 mil. pieces. Marketability of eggs was 74.4 %. Sale of poultry for slaughter decreased by 4.4 % to 202 thousand tonnes of live weight.
