As at 15 July the Czech Statistical Office processed estimates of yield and harvest of selected agricultural plants – peas, poppy, fruits and vegetables and precised estimates of production for basic cereals (wheat, rye, barley, oats and triticale), rape, strawberries, cherries and sour cherries.
According to precised estimates awaited production of basic cereals (with triticale but without maize for grain and other cereals) should be at level of 6 249 thous. t with average yield of 4.29 t/ha. Matching June estimate there is an estimated production of basic cereals by 147 thous. t higher (+ 2.4 %). Matching the year 2006 final results it means by 484 thous. t more (+ 8.4 %).
Wheat production is estimated at the level of 3 730 thous. t (of which: winter wheat 3 526 thous. t), it means in comparison with 2006 harvest higher by 6.4 %. Barley total harvest is estimated by 4.8 % up reaching amount 1 988 thous. t (of which: production spring barley should be at the level of 1 382 thous. t, it means by 8.7 % down comparing 2006 results). The yield of winter wheat is estimated in amount of 4.70 t/ha (in previous year it was 4.58 t/ha), rye 4.12 t/ha (3.33 t/ha) and spring barley 3.74 t (3.55 t/ha).
The harvest of early potatoes (till the date 30 June) should reach 38 thous. t with an estimated average yield 17.81 t/ha. Rape production should be 969 thous. t, it means by 89 thous. t higher (+ 10.1 %) than in previous year with average yield 2.87 t/ha. Poppy production should be 38 thous. t matching the year 2006 (it was 32 thous. t) is higher and yield is also up at the level of 0.67 t/ha (in 2006 it was 0.55 t/ha).
