Livestock Slaughter
Methodology | Contents |
Outputs of the Monthly Survey on Livestock Slaughter are included in the publication. The survey includes all the slaughter places in the Czech Republic without regard to their production capacity. The slaughter covers the whole livestock for slaughter, both internal and external origin.
Meat production total in carcass weight includes beef, veal, pig meat, sheep meat and horse meat. The production of sheep meat includes also lamb and goat meat. Forced slaughter is included in the carcass weight only if the meat is fit for human consumption.
Data on poultry meat production originates from the monthly survey on poultry purchase Drůb (MZe) 4 – 12 conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture. The live weight is converted into the carcass weight.
The Ministry of Agriculture provided the publication with estimates of livestock home slaughter.
According to the EU-legislation, methodology of carcass weight calculation was changed in 2007. In this context data for 2006 was recalculated and doesn’t correspond to this one published in the publication Livestock Slaughter 2006.
