According to the Livestock census as at 1.4.2007 the numbers of livestock in the main categories went up y-o-y, except for pigs and poultry.
Numbers of cattle increased by 18 thousand heads y-o-y (1.3 %), of which numbers of cows total by 1 thousand heads (0.2 %). Numbers of suckler cows increased by 10.5 % to 154 thousand heads.
Numbers of pigs decreased by 10 thousand heads (0.4 %) in comparison with the same stage of the previous year, of which numbers of sows went down by 4 thousand heads (1.8 %).
Numbers of poultry went down by 1 144 thousand heads (4.4 %), of which hens by 28 thousand heads (0.4 %).
There was y-o-y increase in sheep numbers by 20 thousand heads, i.e. by more than 13.8 %.
Numbers of horses went up by 4.9 % y-o-y.
