Livestock Census: 1 April 2006
Methodology | Contents |
Outputs of the annual sample survey on livestock are included in the publication. List of respondents was generated from the Farm Register. Grossing-up process and data publication were carried out up to the level of structural data in Agrocensus 2000, i.e. estimated numbers of livestock in units below thresholds (“hobby activities”) are not included. This approach is in compliance with EU legislation of Eurostat defining the statistical reporting unit with specified thresholds.
The outputs result from annual statistical questionnaire Zem 1-01 monitoring the numbers of livestock in particular categories as at 1. 4. of the reporting year being at the breeder (keeper) at the time of the survey. The questionnaires are delivered by selected reporting units engaged in livestock-keeping and registered in updated Farm Register, regardless their UAA and sector of their main economic activity. In the livestock census are included: cattle, pigs, horses, colts, sheep, goats and poultry. Each livestock category is sorted in detail according to the Statistical Classification of Products by Activity.
Sample set is stratified according to grossing-up group of the respondent unit, number of livestock kept, productive sub-sector and region, where is the reporting unit farming or placed.
Data on livestock published in time series were surveyed till 1992 as at 1.1., since 1993 as at 1.3., and since 2003 as at 1.4. of the reporting year.
