Gross Agricultural Output

Methodology

Contents

Final data for harvest of agricultural commodities (Zem 6-01) and production of basic animal products (Zem 1-02, Zem 2-03, Zem 3-04) and data about livestock census (Zem 1-01) were the main sources for calculation of the gross agricultural output. All products for own final consumption (self-supplement) were included in individual items.

Breeding cattle production is qualified as a difference in weight of breeding cattle categories upon ascertainment on livestock census carried out on 1 April 2006 and on 1 April 2007. Exports and imports of breeding animals are reflected in the production during the observed year (then the production can be positive or negative).

Individual agriculture products in quantities are valued at constant prices expressed in relation to 1989 and at current prices of the observed year.

Since the year 1995 there has not been any option to obtain calculated fields of the gross agricultural output for each districts. However calculation methods for the whole republic are full comparable with methods applied in previous years and they enable to monitor development of the agriculture production in the Czech Republic.

There are used the Economic Accounts for Agriculture (EAA) for the international comparison within the Member countries of the European Union. The EAA include next basic indicators: output of agricultural activities, gross and net value added, entrepreneurial income and gross fixed capital formation in agricultural products.
