Gross Agricultural Output

Commentary

Contents

The gross agricultural output decreased in the observed year 2005 (in constant prices 1989) by 4,3 %. Worse earnings in the crop output (especially lower harvest of cereals, oil plants and fruit) were mainly caused by adverse climatic conditions. The lower production of the slaughter animals and eggs was the cause of the decrease of the gross animal output.

The more considerable reduction of gross agricultural output in current prices was caused first of all by price cut that were paid to agricultural producers for their products. There was drop in prices of vegetable products in the year 2005 as a consequence of their stock of the harvest in the year 2004.

The gross agricultural output (in constant prices) per hectare of farmland achieved 17 259 CZK in the year 2005 and decreased by 4,7 % against the previous year. The gross agricultural output per agricultural worker declined slightly (by 0,8 %) and achieved the amount 485 372 CZK; its level was affected by decrease of agricultural workers.
