Gross Agricultural Output

Commentary

Contents

The gross agricultural output increased in the observed year 2004 (in constant prices 1989) by 14,9 %. Good earnings in the crop output (especially high harvest of cereals and oil plants) were mainly caused by kindly climatic conditions. The lower production of the slaughter animals and eggs was the cause of the decrease of the gross animal output.

Growth of gross agricultural output in current prices was at the same time caused by rise of prices that were paid to agricultural producers for their products. But there were very sharp drop in prices of agricultural commodities and difficulties with their sales at the end of the year 2004.

The gross agricultural output (in constant prices) per hectare of farm land achieved 18 107 CZK in the year 2004 and increased by 15,0 % against the previous year. The gross agricultural output per agricultural worker rose by 18,5 % and achieved the amount 475 450 CZK; Its accrual was affected by decrease of agricultural workers too.
