Gross Agricultural Output

Commentary

Contents

The gross agricultural output decreased in the observed year (in constant prices 1989) by 7,6 %. The lower harvest of all basic agricultural crops was the main cause of this fall. The output of grapes and nursery plants raised. As the cause of the decrease of the gross animal output was the reduction of the number of breeding livestock, lower output of slaughter animals and other livestock products. The fish output increased.
The cutting of gross agricultural output in current prices was caused by drop in prices which were paid to agricultural producers for their products (price index 2003/2002 was 97,1 %).

The gross agricultural output (in constant prices) per hectare of farm land achieved 15 740 CZK in the year 2003 and dropped by 7,5 % against the previous year. The gross agricultural output per agricultural worker fell in the monitoring year by 3,7 % to the amount 407 436 CZK. It was caused by shrinkage of agricultural staff.
