Gross Agricultural Output

Commentary

Contents

The gross agricultural output increased in the observed year (at constant prices expressed in relation to 1989) by 2,5 %. The improved results of the crop output (firstly the harvest of cereals, oil seeds and sugar beet) had a share in this accrual above all. The harvest of potatoes, fruit and vegetables was lower. The gross animal output held the level of the previous year. There were not well-marked changes in the production of slaughter cattle and cow’s milk. The production of slaughter poultry and eggs increased.

The development of the gross agriculture output at current prices has been influenced by the prices that have been for individual commodities repaid to agricultural producers. The price index 2001/2000 was 108,4.

The gross agricultural output per 1 hectare of farm land (at constant prices) amounted 17 794 CZK, that was higher by 2,6 % than in the year 2000. The gross agricultural output per person engaged in agriculture was 449 212 CZK and increased by 7,8 %. This growth was caused by a decrease of labourers in the agricultural sector.
