Number of women and men, demografic events

In the Czech population, women have a long-term slight predominance - at the end of 2024, they accounted for 50.9% of the total population, in absolute terms there were 200.3 thousand more women than men. Among foreigners, women represented 49.3% at the end of 2023. Women born in 2024 in the Czech Republic were expected to live 83.1 years, while men 6.0 years less. The mean age of living women was 44.5 years and men 41.6 years at the end of 2024.
