Number of women and men, demografic events

In the Czech population, women have a long-term slight predominance - at the end of 2023, they accounted for 51.0% of the total population, in absolute terms there were 215.3 thousand more women than men. Among foreigners, women represented 49.3% at the end of 2023. Women born in 2023 in the Czech Republic were expected to live 82.8 years, while men 5.9 years less. The mean age of living women was 44.2 years and men 41.4 years.
