Number of women and men, demografic events

In the Czech population, women have a long-term slight predominance - at the end of 2022, they accounted for 51.0% of the total population, in absolute terms there were 210.5 thousand more women than men. The numerical predominance of women (in contrast to previous years) was also recorded among foreigners (51.1%). Women born in 2022 in the Czech Republic were expected to live 82.0 years, while men 5.9 years less. The mean age of living women was 44.0 years and men 41.2 years.
