Number of foreigners, demographic events

Numbers of foreigners legally residing in the territory of the CR have been rising continuously. By the end of 2022 they reached of their historical maximum of 1 113.7 thousand. The share of foreigners in the total population thus reached 10.3%. Among foreigners, third-country nationals are prevailing while citizens of Ukraine clearly dominate. Slovaks represent the most numerous group among the foreigners coming from EU countries. In 2022 a total of 6 526 children with foreign state citizenship were live born in our territory what meant so far the highest registered number.
