Migration

Due to the strong immigration wave of refugees from Ukraine the net migration increased to 330 thousand in 2022, while an average annual net migration from 2017–2021 was 38 thousand. Ukrainians are the most numerous in net migration, followed by citizens of Slovakia and Russia. Approximately 240 thousand inhabitants report a change of municipality of residence within the Czech Republic every year.
