Government budget allocations for R&D

38.5 billion crowns were spent on research and development from the government budget in 2022, which represented 0.57% of GDP. This is the lowest share since 2010. Government budget on research and development increased by 0.5% year-on-year. The government budget participate 29% to the financing of research and development. The most important provider of state support has long been the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, which in 2022 supported research and development in the amount of 15.2 billion crowns. Among the recipients of R&D state support, public universities dominate, which in 2022 consumed 17 billion crowns of public money on R&D.
