Elections to the European Parliament

Elections to the European Parliament are carried out according to the principles of proportional representation. Depending on the population of individual Member States of the European Union, 24, 22, and currently 21 members of the European Parliament (MEPs) were elected in the Czech Republic for the period of 5 years. The elections take place in all Member States of the EU, while in the Czech Republic (CR) only in the territory of the CR and their conduct is governed by the Act No 62/2003 Sb.
