In the News ReleaseIndustry, the indicators are published as adjusted data – adjusted for calendar effects. In addition, month-on-month or quarter-on-quarter indexes are seasonally adjusted (including adjustment for calendar effects). The adjusted data are used for various data comparisons. Calendar effects adjusted data are suitable for comparing year-on-year growth. We use seasonally adjusted data to compare short-term movements, to compare time series with different course of season, and last but not least, to methodologically sound international comparisons.
