Forestry
In 2023, roundwood removals amounted to 18.5 million m³ (underbark); there was a year-on-year decrease by 6.6 million m³. The share of salvage felling was 59.7%; spruce was the main species harvested (74.4% of roundwood removals). The highest roundwood removals occurred in the Jihočeský region (2.5 million m³). Afforestation/reforestation (planting and sowing) was carried out on an area of 35 222 hectares, with conifers prevailing (52.7% of the area).
