Expenditure on education
In 2024, a total of CZK 321,920 million was spent on education in Czechia from public sources. The largest portion, 41.7%, was allocated to the education of basic school students, who also represent the largest group. One-fifth of public expenditures on education went to the education of students in secondary and higher professional schools, while 11.7% of these expenditures were allocated to preschool education.
A total of CZK 54,090 million was allocated to all services provided by universities (including research and development and investment expenditures), accounting for 16.3% of the total public expenditure on education.
