Census Hub application on Eurostat website

Census Hub is a tool for publishing the results of the 2011 and 2021 censuses. It is the result of cooperation between national statistical offices with the aim of providing users with internationally comparable data from all countries of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland in one place.

The European Statistical System provides an online application, which is available from:
https://ec.europa.eu/CensusHub.

Through this application, the user specifies the structure of the required data output.

In contrast to static pre-prepared tables, the Census Hub application offers the user the opportunity to define their own outputs - both their content and the territorial level. The data source is the so-called "cubes" - methodologically comparable aggregated data for persons, dwellings and households, which are in no way microdata.

The results can be exported in XLS, CSV or SDMX formats.

The range of defined and exported data is limited to 100,000 data for practical reasons (speed of data selection and acceptable size of created tables). For the same reasons, the application also partially limits the possibilities of combining individual dimensions. When defining the expected output, it is mandatory to select a specific entity and the required territorial unit (state, NUTS 2 or NUTS 3, or LAU 2).

In addition to the data, the Census Hub also provides metadata for census data for individual states. This information also has a unified formal form.
