Preface | Contents |
The Nomenclature of Municipalities of the Czech Republic 2007 was prepared by the Demographic Statistics Section of the Czech Statistical Office. The nomenclature includes territorial changes as until the 30 January 2007, obtained from the Territorial Identification Register administrated by CZSO. As compared to the last issue of the nomenclature the following changes took place:
Constitution of independent municipalities as of 1 July 2006:
- Ladná in the district Břeclav
- Držovice in the district Prostějov
Termination of independent municipality as of 19 October 2006:
- Hostovice in the district Pardubice
Based on the Decree No. 513/2006 Coll., which modifies the Decree No. 564/2002 Coll., on the districts of the Czech Republic, were 119 municipalities shifted between the districts as of 1 January 2007.
Based on the Act No. 234/2006 Coll., which modifies the Act No. 128/2000 Coll., on municipalities, the Chairman of the Parliament enacted 45 new towns and 142 township municipalities, as of 30 January 2007.
The towns, i.e. the municipalities with the force of the town office as of 30 January 2007 (total 574 towns in the Czech Republic including Prague), are highlighted by boldface. Except 6244 municipalities there are also stated 5 military domains (processed as municipalities by the demographic statistics).
The statutory towns are not divided into the city parts in the nomenclature, because the smallest territorial unit processed by demographic statistics is the municipality.
