Under the chairmanship of Mr Marek Rojíček, the President of the Czech Statistical Office, the fourth meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics under the Czech Presidency took place on 11 November 2022.
There were three main items on the agenda at this meeting. Firstly, the Chair of the WP, Mr Rojíček, informed the delegations about the outcome of the first political trilogue and the outcome of a technical trilogue on the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) 549/2013 and repealing 11 legal acts in the field of national accounts (ESA 2010). The trilogues took place in Strasbourg on 17 and 18 October respectively.
The second item on the agenda was the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No 691/2011 as regards introducing new environmental economic accounts modules. The Czech Presidency presented a draft compromise text for the Annexes. It specifically focused on Annex VIII for environmental subsidies and similar transfers accounts and Annex IX for ecosystem accounts.
The last agenda item concerned the proposal for the Data Act. Mrs Veronika Chvála Vinklárková, the chair of the Working Party on Telecommunications and Information Society, informed the Member States about the latest news on the progress made regarding the second compromise text.
The next meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics is scheduled for Friday, 25 November 2022.
