Total health care expenditure increased more than twice from 2010 to 2024, from CZK 302 billion to CZK 697 billion. Health insurance companies have the largest share of total expenditure. In 2024, they spent almost CZK 514 billion on health care. The average expenditure on health care per capita in 2024 was 64 thousand CZK. Households out-of-pocket payment was on average 8,679 CZK per capita.
