Total health care expenditure increased almost twice from 2010 to 2022, from CZK 302 billion to CZK 597 billion. Health insurance companies have the largest share of total expenditure. In 2022, they spent a total of CZK 426 billion on health care. The average expenditure on health care per capita in 2022 was 55.5 thousand CZK. Households out-of-pocket payment was on average 7,930 CZK per capita.
