1856	The first meeting of the Central Committee for Statistics of Agriculture and Forestry of Bohemia took place
1869	The first Population Census on the territory of Bohemia and Moravia was carried out
1870	Municipal Commission for Statistics of the Royal City of Prague was established
1897	Land Statistical Office of Czech Lands established
1909	The first "Statistical Handbook of Czech Lands" was issued
*1919*	*Act on organization of statistical service adopted, State Office for Statistics founded*
1920	The first "Statistical Handbook of Czechoslovak Republic" was issued, "Czechoslovak Statistical Bulletin" started to be issued
1921	The first Population and Housing Census carried out in the Czechoslovak Republic
1946	Offices of state statistical service were founded in districts
1949	In relation to establishing of regions, the structure of regional statistical services was established
1951	Regional and district administrations of the State Office for Statistics were established
1961	Statistics and state control merged, in 1967 statistics separated again (State Statistical Office)
1969	Federal Statistical Office, Czech Statistical Office,* and Slovak Statistical Office founded*
1972	CZSO Regional Administrations and district departments were founded
1993	Federal Statistical Office ceased to exist, its functions and activities were taken over by the CZSO
1998	Transformation of the state statistical service
2000	The CZSO Regional Offices founded in 14 regions
2001	Regional Statistical Yearbooks issued in a unified system
2004	The CZSO included in European Statistical System
